Public Awareness

The Manchester Police Department would like you to be aware, recently just outside of town; there have been reported theft cases, involving the theft of tools.  Just as a reminder:

  • Please ensure your doors (VEHICLES, HOME and SHEDS) are LOCKED.
  • Place something in the track of your sliding doors to increase security
  • Keep lights on at night
  • If you are leaving town, redirect your mail and leave your lights on or use timers
  • If you live in Town and will be away, contact us to have Special Attention on your home.
  • Do not leave your garage door open; trust me we see this a lot and no one is home.

The BEST NEWS, our town in the last 58 DAYS, has been SAFE, Quiet and pretty much CRIME FREE.  We have had some minor issues involving traffic enforcement, minor assaults, civil and family issues; but ZERO Part 1 Crime.

Side Note:  The sheriff’s office is looking for a 2016 or 2017 “Candy Apple Red” Dodge pick-up.   The vehicle has a decal on the rear window.  The vehicle is wanted for questioning only regarding thefts near our town.  If you have any information regarding this vehicle, email it to info@manchestermd.gov or call 410-239-6900 or 410-239-3200.

If you see something, say something.  Call 911 and report suspicious activity.
